MAJESTIC THEATRE AND MAJESTIC CAFE

Originally constructed as a movie theatre in 1931, the theatre was extensively renovated in 2017-2019 by its current owner,  Mountain Top Music Center.   Mountain Top, a non-profit, operates a community music school on the second floor, annually produces 12 to 20 musical events in the Majestic Theatre,  and operates the Majestic Cafe, an intimate piano bar / jazz cafe in one of the building’s storefronts. The Majestic Cafe currently offers a weekly Friday night jazz series.  Mountain Top rents the Majestic Theatre to select outside groups, primarily non-profits, for their own performances. 

The stage is approximately 20 feet deep and 39 feet wide and features a 15 ft. tall x 32 ft wide proscenium and a 31 ft. high stage house. Seating is in 18 rows on a 1:12 raked floor with continental aisles, in a 39 ft wide, 70 ft deep house. The last row will accommodate up to 5 wheelchair users and their companions.

A Steinway model B grand piano graces the stage, and is available for performances.  The FOH sound system includes an Allen and Heath AH SQ-6 control panel. The Majestic Theatre has livestream and recording capability, with two remotely-controlled cameras on the side trees, one on the rear wall, and two movable cameras managed by a Blackmagic switcher and ISO recorder.  The adjoining greenroom offers an available video feed of the live performance. A double door leads directly to the stage, providing easy load-in for performers.

Beverages are typically available in the Majestic Cafe before performances and during intermissions. In addition to operating as a concession during theatre performances, the Majestic Cafe serves as an intimate 45-55 seat performance venue.
